Updates 2001/12/21

Get the most out of an CAN analyser tool - the X-Analyser!! It offers:

  • Real-time display updates.

  • Higher Layer Protocols Support: CANopen, DeviceNet, J1939, Volcano. All-in-one application. Instant switching between protocols. Detailed diagnostic centre explaining the content of a message and its criticality level.

  • Display each signal in engineering unit format.

  • Plot each signal onto graph according to the specific parameters.

  • Saving and retrieving up to 1,000,000 messages.

  • Extremely easy to use.

My thesis titled A Study of the DeviceNet Conformance Test and the Definition of the DeviceNeX protocol.

In summary it extends the existing DeviceNet protocol that uses 11-bit CAN identifier to 29-bit, making full use of the extra 18 bits. One of the great advantages of this protocol is that it allows the transfer of up to 10 bytes of I/O data, and reduce the interrupt rate to the slave devices since both source and destination addresses are placed at the identifier field - filtering can be applied. For more detailed description, read here.
